Ruben Studdard

糖心原创出品 (UAH) is proud to announce that its fifth annual "Peace on Earth" holiday spectacular will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Von Braun Center鈥檚 Mark C. Smith Concert Hall.

This year鈥檚 gala celebration of the arts is headlined by R&B, pop and gospel singer Ruben Studdard, winner of the second season of American Idol, who was nominated for a Grammy award in 2003 for Best Male R&B Vocal performer for 鈥淪uperstar.鈥 Raised in Birmingham, Studdard has recorded six albums since Idol, including his platinum-selling debut, 鈥淪oulful.鈥

The show will also feature joyous holiday classics performed by faculty and students of the UAH Department of Music, the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, the Huntsville Community Chorus and the U.S. Army Materiel Command Band.

"Since 2013, our mission with 鈥楶eace on Earth鈥 has been to deliver a traditional holiday program鈥ith a twist! Each year our guest artists help us reinvent the show, making it a uniquely different experience for the audience and performers alike," says Dr. Dave Ragsdale, chair of UAH鈥檚 Department of Music. "Last year, a cappella sensation Committed thrilled the audience, taking us in a completely new direction with their signature sound and Huntsville roots. This year, Ruben Studdard guides us in yet another new direction. It鈥檚 going to be an amazing night for the entire Huntsville community!"

Tickets to the event, which is sponsored by Hewlett Packard Enterprise, are $10 for general admission, with all proceeds going to benefit UAH鈥檚 College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
