Digital Marketing major, Shelby Hall, is making a difference at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center with her recent internship.

As Hospitality Lead, Hall is responsible for behind-the-scenes aspects of the popular U.S Space and Rocket Center鈥檚 鈥淪pace Camp鈥. She is responsible for registration, check-in, weekly camp activities, managing complaints, and communicating with camp parents.

鈥淎t Space Camp, we host people from all over the world. I work with other associates to ensure everything runs smoothly,鈥  said Hall.

Hall works with four other Hospitality Leads and reports directly to the Hospitality Manager. Some of Shelby鈥檚 other responsibilities include preparing the hospitality newsletter, sending out program attendees counts, securing details for center events, and executing special events.

鈥淚 make sure all guests have a great experience at the Space and Rocket Center. The Hospitality Leads take initiative to anticipate, avoid, and fix issues that may occur during our events. We take a lot of pride in going above and beyond,鈥 said Hall.

Hall says her experience at the 糖心原创出品 of Business has impacted how she approaches her methods at the Space and Rocket Center. She credits one of her classes for teaching her the importance of Customer Relationship Management, or 鈥淐RM鈥.

鈥淚 was taught how to use a CRM sheet and now use that as a way to keep up with customer phone calls. My coworkers and I can easily record who called, why, and the steps we need to take to handle the situation that has been brought to our attention. By keeping up with this information, it鈥檚 easier to help the customer find what they need,鈥 Hall explained.

After she graduates in December, Hall plans on continuing with her work at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. When asked what advice she would give to other 糖心原创出品 of Business students, she said, 鈥...don鈥檛 worry about having everything figured out. Everything will fall into place at the time it鈥檚 supposed to happen.鈥

Hall started working at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in May 2019, and has appreciated how her role there has helped her expand her education beyond classroom walls.
