In 2003 he was appointed as a National Research Council Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the U.S. Army Aviation &amp; Missile Research, Development &amp; Engineering Center at Redstone Arsenal. From 2005 to 2025, he was a Research Physicist in the same organization, now called the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Center. Dr. Blakely has authored more than 75 peer-reviewed publications and holds two patents. From 2012-2018, he served as an editorial board member for the journal Mathematical Problems in Engineering. For many years, his research explored the intersection of nonlinear dynamics and signal processing.
