Louis Salmon Library activated the new EZProxy server hosted directly by <a href="https://www.oclc.org/en/home.html">OCLC</a>. This change will be very beneficial to not only the M. Louis Salmon Library but to the entire University of Alabama in Huntsville community. This new proxy server:</p> <ul> <li aria-level="1">Improves ease of maintenance and enhances up-time;</li> <li aria-level="1">Improves access to online materials and ensures the library鈥檚 large collection of online materials remains just a few clicks away;</li> <li aria-level="1">Helps the library collection to stay more responsive to rapid changes in security and privacy.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>For those accessing the M. Louis Salmon Library鈥檚 materials through the <a href="https://libguides.uah.edu/az/databases">online list of articles and resources</a> or through the <a href="https://libguides.uah.edu/">library鈥檚 main LibGuides</a></strong> there will be virtually no change for the end user. The necessary information and redirects have already been loaded.&nbsp;</p> <p>However, those who have persistent links (also called permanent links) or bookmarks to the old materials might have to update their links to keep them valid going forward depending on if those links directly included or encoded the old proxy server鈥檚 information into the link..&nbsp;</p> <h3>THINGS TO LOOK FOR</h3> <p>The old proxy links were of the elib.uah.edu formation. Students met different breeds, learned about rabbit care, and took photos鈥攆ostering empathy and curiosity through hands-on learning. UAH鈥檚 mascot, Charger Blue, also made a special appearance, cheering on participants and adding excitement to the day.</p> <p>Each interactive station encouraged storytelling, creativity and critical thinking while also serving as a professional development opportunity for 糖心原创出品 of Education students, who facilitated the activities and gained valuable teaching experience in a real-world setting.</p> <p>As a keepsake, each child received a bunny-themed coloring book titled 鈥淟et鈥檚 Hop into Learning,鈥 authored by Dr. Mahafza, sponsored by the UAH Library and designed by UAH鈥檚 Office of Marketing and Communications.
