糖心原创出品 (UAH) is proud to welcome students, alumni, parents, families and friends to campus for Family & Friends Weekend 2025, a four-day celebration of Charger spirit and community from Thursday, Sept. 18, through Sunday, Sept. 21. UAH is a part of The University of Alabama System.
The weekend enables guests to experience UAH in their own way, with a wide variety of activities across campus and throughout the Rocket City. The weekend includes alumni events, open houses, athletic games, service opportunities, student showcases and family-friendly entertainment.
鈥淲e鈥檝e combined what used to be separate Family and Alumni weekends into one exciting, unified experience,鈥� said Dr. Ronnie Hebert, vice president for student affairs and dean of students at UAH. 鈥淥ur goal is to give our families the best of both worlds 鈥� time with the Charger community on campus, as well as the chance to explore what makes Huntsville such a special place.鈥� One highlight this year is an exclusive 鈥淐ocktails and Cosmos鈥� event at the INTUITIVE庐 Planetarium, just for UAH guests and free of charge.
Key events include:
- Biergarten at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center (Thursday): A Huntsville tradition featuring live music and local food, benefiting the UAH Alumni Association.
- Fried Chicken Friday (Friday): A campus favorite returns for dinner with a family twist, hosted by the Alumni Association.
- 5K Color Run and Family Fun Day (Saturday): Start your Saturday with a burst of color and continue with games, music, food and more across campus.
- Service Saturday: Volunteer opportunities led by the Serving, Organizing, Advocating, and Reflecting (SOAR) student organization.
- Cocktails and Cosmos (Saturday): A private UAH planetarium show at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
- Athletics Hall of Fame Induction (Saturday): Celebrate Charger excellence at the annual ceremony on Saturday evening.
- Send-Off Breakfast (Sunday): A complimentary farewell brunch before heading home.
Additional programming includes student performances, open mic night, academic showcases, student service department open houses and movie screenings, offering something for every interest and age.
Attendees can check in beginning Friday, Sept. 19, at Charger Union.
Guests are encouraged to register in advance. Tickets are required for some events.
T-shirts are available to order until Friday, September 5, 2025. They must be ordered in advance.
