UAH announces new scholarship program for Space Camp庐 graduates

糖心原创出品 (UAH) announced today a new scholarship opportunity for graduates of Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center (USSRC). The UAH Space Camp Scholarship offers up to $8,000 in financial support for those who choose to continue their academic journey at UAH. UAH is part of The University of Alabama System.

鈥淭his scholarship reflects UAH鈥檚 deep connection to space, science, and innovation,鈥 said Dr. Michael Poll, vice provost for enrollment management at UAH. 鈥淪pace Camp does more than inspire鈥攊t equips students with the foundational skills and mindset needed for success in STEM. By connecting these young innovators to institutions like UAH, we鈥檙e helping prepare the next generation of engineers, scientists, and technology leaders who will power the region鈥檚 future.鈥

The scholarship is open to students who have successfully completed the Aviation Challenge Mach III, Advanced Space Academy, the U.S. Advanced Cyber Academy, or a comparable high school-level Space Camp program. To qualify, students must be fully admitted to UAH as a new first-time undergraduate student and begin full-time enrollment in a degree-seeking program in the summer or fall term immediately following their high school graduation.

鈥淲e鈥檙e excited for this next chapter in our long relationship with UAH. Our institutions share a passion for discovery and equipping curious minds with tools to build the future,鈥 said Brenda Perez, Interim CEO, U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Home of Space Camp.

In-state students who meet the criteria will receive an annual award of $1,000, while out-of-state students will receive $2,000 per year. The scholarship is renewable for up to four academic years for students who maintain continuous full-time enrollment in good academic standing and maintain a 2.5 UAH GPA. The scholarship is stackable 鈥 it may be combined with additional academic scholarships awarded by the university.

Students must have completed an eligible Space Camp program on or after May 8, 2025. Eligible students will receive a certificate confirming their scholarship status upon completion of their Space Camp program. The scholarship itself will be officially awarded once the student is admitted to UAH as a new first-time student.
