Biography

Jingning Ao, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of strategy and entrepreneurship at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. She holds two doctoral degrees: her second Ph.D., from the University of Pittsburgh, where her research focused on SpaceX's self-celebrating strategies on YouTube; and her first Ph.D. from Middle Tennessee State University, where she examined the leisure behaviors of astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Her research lies at the intersection of language, innovation and strategy, with a particular emphasis on entrepreneurial activities within the commercial space sector. Recently, she successfully led an undergraduate research team to NASA's Johnson Space Center, where they earned a finalist position in the NASA MUREP Innovation and Tech Transfer Idea Competition in Fall 2024.
