Coe Gwathney recently assumed the role of Director of Infrastructure in the Office of Information Technology at UAH, where he leads teams responsible for enterprise systems, virtual platforms, networking, telecommunications, and other core IT services.
His career path has been broad and unconventional, spanning wholesale and retail operations, graphic design, product development, rapid prototyping, and IT systems development and administration. Primarily self-taught, Coe has always preferred hands-on learning and problem-solving through direct experience.
Beyond technical leadership, he is deeply committed to mentoring staff and refining processes that enhance efficiency, strengthen security, and improve user experience. He believes that technology leadership is not just about maintaining systems, but also about empowering people and fostering environments where teams can thrive.
Outside of work, Coe鈥檚 hobbies are as varied as his professional journey. He enjoys making and listening to music, leather craft, video games, and experimenting with electronics鈥攁mong many other creative pursuits.
